Back to College Essentials

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Brita. All opinions are 100% mine.
Back to College Essentials

One of my favorite parts of going back to school is back to school shopping. I'm obsessed with school supplies and trying new brands is so exciting for me. By now, in my final year of graduate school, I've finally nailed down the essentials for the day-to-day college student. Staying organized and taking care of yourself are key to having a great school year.

1. Erin Condren Life Planner - Planners have been a life saver for me in college. I've tried many different styles and brands, but for now, I'm loving the Erin Condren Life Planner. It's visually appealing and has plenty of space to plan to do lists for each day. You can also get a totally custom cover!

2. Botanicals Notebook Collection - Having cute notebooks motivates me to use them more, and this pack is the perfect size to tuck into my planner.

3. BritaⓇ Filter Bottle - I try my best not to use plastic water bottles since they are so terrible for the environment (and for local economies where the water is harvested - watch the documentary Tapped if you're curious!). I love BritaⓇ's water filter pitchers at home, but these bottles - available at Target - are the perfect solution on-the-go. Because it has a built-in filter, the BritaⓇ filter bottles are convenient and can remove impurities from water anywhere on campus.

4. Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens - These are my favorite pens by far! The container flips around so the container can stand on its own. The rainbow colors are perfect for color coding assignments.

5. Dolls Kill Angel of Mine Backpack - It took years, but I'm finally using a backpack instead of a tote bag. It's so much better for your health - carrying your laptop, textbooks, and other supplies can wreck your back. I love this backpack because it's cute and functional - so many pockets!

March Wishlist

March Wishlist

1. Mako Mankanshoku Figure - Kill la Kill's final episode just aired last Thursday. I haven't kept up with an anime week-to-week, as it aired, in a long, long time. Watching Kill la Kill live was thrilling! Mako is my favorite character (Nonon is a close second!) and this Nendoroid figure is one of the most expressive I've ever seen. It also comes with a tiny pug wearing a hoodie.

2. Waffle Lovin' Stephanie Brown Brooch - I've fangirled over BatEarrang for a long while now, but only recently made my first order. Jessica makes vintage-inspired jewelry from "rescued" comic books, and each piece is lovely and unique! If you love the concept, but have a penchant for obscure characters, she accepts custom orders, too.

3. Kawaii for Life Print - Nothing says "kawaii" like pastel hair, bows, and cupcakes. This print would be super cute above a dresser or vanity!

4. Karaoke Songstress Shorts - I am so ready for spring! I've been buying crop tops and I think these high-waisted shorts would match perfectly. (Plus, the design reminds me of Marceline - always a good thing!)

5. Set the Serene Swimsuit (Top, Bottom) - I'm not sure I've ever worn a two-piece swimsuit, but this season's retro, high-waisted trend makes me want to try it out. ModCloth has a ton of cute swimwear, both one and two-pieces as well as lots of plus-size options!

6. Batman Muscle Tee - More Batman Batgirl always.

P.S. - Tonight, I'm going to be joining some fellow Female Geek Bloggers for a con-at-home G+ hangout, all about cosplay! We may or may not wear costumes. (Just kidding, we're cosplayers - of course we're going to wear costumes.) We'll post a link to the hangout on Twitter with #FGBCosplay so keep an eye out.

February Wishlist

February Wishlist

 1. Game of Thrones "Moon of My Life" Brooch  - Liz actually found a matching pair of Game of Thrones brooches when looking for some pins we could put on our vests to match. I adore Daenerys and Drogo's relationship. Who else is excited for season 4?!

2. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars - I bought a lip tar set earlier this month and now I'm in love. These have just the right amount of coverage without being goopy or too drying, and come in a huge range of colors that are meant to be mixed for your own custom color. The best part? The entire company is vegan and cruelty-free!

3. Magical Girl Squad Ralgan Top - If you haven't seen Look Human's designs yet, you definitely should. Not only do they have actually cute nerdy designs, but you can get them on any type of shirt (or sometimes even pillow, blanket, or phone case) your heart desires. I'm particularly partial to any design featuring magical girls.

4. She Hulk Brooch - Nerd Burger designs the glitteriest, geeky goodies and this heart-shaped brooch is no exception! I just read She Hulk #1 last week so I've got my eye out for all things Jennifer Walters.

5. Adventure Time Seeing Red - Technically, this comic doesn't come out until March - but I'm going to a Kate Leth signing so I'll get a copy early! Yay! I'm excited to see Kate Leth as a writer with her own long-form story (rather than a short story/comic) and also learn more about Marceline.

January Wishlist

January Wishlist

1 & 2. Surprise Me dress in Burgundy & City Music Festival dress - It's been so cold here lately (we even got SNOW!), so I'm anxious to find more dresses I can pair with darker, winter colors. I have the Surprise Me dress in Blueberry already, so I know I'd love it, and the floral pattern in the second dress would pair well with lots of different tights.

3. Poison Ivy Swimsuit - Black Milk recently announced their Batman collaboration - you can see the full collection here! I probably won't end up getting anything, but my favorite piece is this swimsuit. I love the art they used!

4. Galaxy heels - It's no secret that I love space print, and these heels are out of this world. I'd wear these with my galaxy shirt and black, or anything pink, purple, or blue.

5. Bow hair clips - I've been wearing bows in my hair almost every day lately. Born Pretty has some amazingly adorable bows and you can even pick what kind of clip you want. (Don't forget to use MMT10 for 10% off!)
