Throwback Thursday: Pattern Mixing

Outfit Rundown:
Shirt: Target (Similar) | Skirt: GAP (Similar) | Tights: Target (Similar) | Heels: Target (Similar)

I haven't done a Throwback Thursday outfit in a while! I have a limited supply of photos from when I first started photographing my outfits, but it's so fun to look back at them and remember what I wore my thought process behind the outfit. It really transports you back to who you were when you were wearing it!

This outfit was for a sorority meeting and shopping. I remember being nervous to wear these dotted tights, and to wear the skirt without tucking it in! I don't own this top or skirt anymore - they were worn to death! I still have the heels, which hardly get any wear because they aren't that comfortable. Ah well.

I love my life now as a grad student in digital media, living with my boyfriend and three cats, but looking at these photos reminds me of what it was like to be a freshman in college. Living with three other girls, watching How I Met Your Mother in massive marathons, dying my hair because I could, taking up running... I had a really good freshman year! It's a little bittersweet to reminisce.

Do you ever reminisce on old outfits?

Throwback Thursday: Pink Plaid

Girly Plaid

It's been a while since I did a Throwback Thursday! This outfit is from almost two years ago now, and I wore it to classes, sorority recruitment, and Japanese conversation group. I still love wearing plaid button-ups on top of dresses, though I don't have this particular shirt anymore.

I miss my long hair! I haven't been able to braid my hair since I cut it a year and a half ago. I'm looking forward to being able to style it like this again.

Throwback Thursday: Madame Librarian

Another  #ThrowbackThursday from freshman year! I originally wore this to decide if I should keep this shirt or not. I ended up donating it because I had no clue how to wear it, but now I actually like button-ups and wish I'd kept it.

I really miss the freedom of being able to wear whatever I want to classes. Since I go straight from class to work and sometimes back to class again, I'm always in business casual. Business casual has its own merits, but I feel like I'm not as creative with my outfits as I was back then.

Throwback Thursday: Favorite Outfit

"Well, don't you look cute today!"

I stumbled on my old Flickr account the other day and thought it would be fun to show some of my old outfits! So if I don't look familiar, that's why -- my hair used to be way different. I miss my pink a lot, and having enough hair to do these maiden braids.

I really remember this day distinctly -- the lady at the dining hall said, "Well, don't you look cute today!" and according to my Flickr, I read comics and went out to karaoke after classes. Ah, the good ole days before work... ;)

This dress was my absolute favorite dress for the longest time. I still have it, but both straps have broken and been repaired many times. I don't have quite the same love affair with this dress now as I once did, since I'm moving past saccharine-sweet outfits, but it is still one of the most gorgeous pieces I have ever owned. I have a million outfits with this dress, but I'm happy that I've recorded at least one of them.
