Start your holiday shopping early. If you're anything like me, despite your best efforts, you sometimes still end up at the mall on Christmas Eve. Why not knock a few names off your list during November? Think outside the box - with more time, you can order custom items from Etsy vendors or think of a really nifty gift basket to make.
Start a gratitude list. I am a huge fan of gratitude year-round, but Thanksgiving season is a welcome reminder. Gratitude lists train you to look for the good in every day and be more open to positive outcomes. There's science behind it! Start by listing 5 good things that happened every night before bed, using one of Jessica Mullen's worksheets, or making lists in your head on your morning walk.
Switch to darker makeup and nail polish. Mix up your normal color pallet and add deep jewel tones to your makeup routine. I'm falling for plum nails and burgundy lips - totally out of my comfort zone, but that's why it's fun!
Make sure you have a cute winter coat. With temperatures finally dropping, it's time to make sure you have a warm coat for the winter. There's no reason for it to be drab! ModCloth has some super cute winter gear in all colors and styles. No sense in wearing a dull black coat if you'd rather have something bold!
Find the best pumpkin pie in town. Gather your friends and throughout November, make it your mission to find the absolute best pumpkin pie in your city! (Don't like pumpkin pie? Try hot chocolate or any other seasonal delight.)
Take an elaborate bath. When I'm feeling stressed out, I knock out some of my work early and draw myself a bath. Treat yourself with some yummy-smelling bath goodies, bubbles, and salts, and watch a movie, read a book, or just relax with some music. You deserve it!
