Harper Honey

I'm Harper and my blog, Harper Honey, is a blog dedicated to the universes in my brain. Pretty things I lust after, music hauls, career and college tips-- my site is a blog of my lifestyle.

What does being a geek mean to you? Being a geek means being passionate about something and not hiding it from the world. Geekdom is the joy and bond of loving something really hard.

What's your spring must-do? My spring must-do is finding an internship in New York for the summer! On a less heavy note, I'm also dying to do a spring photoshoot!

Not being good at video games doesn't mean you can't enjoy them. At least that's my motto over at Gamerwife, a place for gamers and partners of gamers to explore and celebrate video game culture regardless of their experience. I love to focus on game art, indie games, cats and whatever my geeky heart desires.

What does being a geek mean to you? Being a geek to me is about being apologetically enthusiastic about the things you love, not being afraid to be different, and always being curious about the world around me.
What's your spring must-do? My spring must-do is taking my winter coat to the dry cleaners. I know it's incredibly mundane, but nothing signals the end of winter better than finally storing away all my woollies.

Confessions of a Book Pimp

Hi! I'm Joie, and I am over at Confessions of a Book Pimp, where I am chronicling my desire to become fit and strong, as well as having fun sharing my fandoms and other likes. I'm also a pop culture fan, comic book & book lover (hence my nickname "Book Pimp" from my best friend) and an anime fan.

What does being a geek mean to you? I think Simon Pegg summed it up for me and I couldn't say it better myself: "Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It’s basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating."

What's your spring must-do? In addition to spring cleaning, I REALLY want to join a team sport. I'm looking at either Water Polo, Field hockey, or Roller Derby! (Though the first two are more easily available).

Nerd Burger

Ever wondered what a combination of comic books, 80's fashion, unicorns and geek craft looks like? Well your looking at her. I'm Cazz and I started Nerd Burger just over 2 years ago. I'd love to have a sidekick in my many nerdy adventures if you think you can handle my Batmobile driving skills.

What does being a geek mean to you? Being a geek means never being ashamed to obsess over what you love regardless of what other people think. Wether it is Hanson, Captain America or Molecules, everyone has an inner geek side.
What's your spring must-do? Organise my Comic Book and Toy collection. With over 400 trade paper backs and 1000's of toys, spring is a time when the husband and I change displays to showcase our new favourite items and give everything a big dust.

What does being a geek mean to you?Being unashamedly and very enthusiastically in love with living my life, and sharing that love with others.
What's your spring must-do?Cleaning out my closet! I can't stand excess random stuff - everything has to have a purpose or meaning. If it doesn't, it's gone. Also Strawberry Crepes. Yum <3

Hello! My name is Elyse and I run Cuddly as a Cactus! I'm a curmudgeonly aspiring librarian from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I love comic books, video games, cartoons, books about science, and anything pastel and girly. I primarily blog about my various nerdy interests and my new life in the Steel City. Initially draw to blogging by my admiration of all the free-spirited, earthy women in the blogiverse, I'm now trying to stay true to my geeky self while still expanding my world and trying to become the gal I want to be!

What does being a geek mean to you? To me, being a geek means being really, truly passionate about something. I was never really popular with my peers throughout my school days, but my geeky interests and the people I met because of those interests have shaped me for the better in so many ways. It's taught me to be open and earnest about something I love, even if it's not something everyone else is into. I think that's a lesson you can carry with you everywhere.
What's your spring must-do? Spring, for me, means baseball baseball baseball! I live two miles from PNC Park and one of my greatest joys is walking down to a Pittsburgh Pirates game or hanging out near the river with all the other fans. It's probably my least-geeky interests, but it's a pass time I can't do without!

Amanda Brand is a life-long geek dying to share her love of video games, fantasy, sci-fi, crafting, and cosplay with the rest of Geekdom. By day she's a mild-mannered political science Ph.D student, and by night she's marathoning Star Trek on Netflix, sewing costumes and crafting props, and reading everything she can get her hands on. She started Geekphoria.net to share her love of everything nerdy with the rest of the world!
What does being a geek mean to you? To me, being a geek means loving things enthusiastically and unabashedly. It's that squeal of joy that escaped you when your favorite character makes a cameo, that need to watch all the behind-the-scenes features on a DVD, or the creative drive to make things to celebrate your love.
What's your spring must-do? Finish all my papers and pass all of my classes! I know, it's not very exciting. But it's necessary!

Thank you all for supporting xo Mia this month! If you'd like to come on board for next month, you can find more information here.
